In 2003, after decades of working with high level mangers, front line leaders, and employees of organizations both big and small, Michele Norris started to notice a change. A new type of employee had arrived in the workplace.
These new employees were fast. They had high expectations and unusual communication and work styles. They were sometimes difficult for her to manage and usually widely misunderstood by others in the workplace.
This new employee — the Millennial — was entering the workforce and almost immediately disrupting a workplace that hadn’t changed much in the last 50 years.
Michele saw this shift happening and began to learn as much as she could about this new and complex generation.
During her research, she found that Millennials are not an entitled, narcissistic, and lazy workforce — as the media and some would have you believe.
Millennials actually possess the strengths and talents to create major growth opportunities within the workplace — but only if the organization and the Millennials know how to work together.
Michele and her team saw the need to begin to educate organizations, c-level executives, front line leaders, and even Millennials themselves about the contrasting values of Millennials, Generation X, and the Baby Boomers.
Today, through consulting, workshops, coaching, and speaking, Navigen Leadership enlightens generations on how to understand each other so they can align their goals and find more success in the workplace.
Navigen Leadership helps both organizations and individuals prepare for the Future @ Work.
